Obituary

ELISABETH R. LOCKWOOD, 68, of rural Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 14, 2016 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, September 25th, at 4 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Father Tim Friedrichsen will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Elisabeth was born on November 26, 1947 in Bavaria, Germany to Karl and Elsa (Geppert) Rohner. She came to the United States in 1950. She attended school in Perry, Iowa graduating from St. Patrick's High School in 1966.

She was married to Robert Lockwood in December 1986. She worked for the Northwest Area Education Agency for 34 years retiring on September 2, 2016 due to her declining health. She was affiliated with the Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert F. Lockwood on September 11, 2014, infant brother Karl Rohner, brother Josef Rohner, a brother-in-law Roger Moore, a step-daughter Kathy Lockwood Reeves.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Lisa) Larson and their children Camden, Caleb, and Megan of Omaha, Nebraska, Rich (Carrie) Larson and their children Jacob, Noah, and Macy of Winterset, Iowa, Kris Williams (Rod Keleher) and her children Damon and Sara of Cherokee, Iowa, Charlie (Melissa) Larson and their children Keegan, Kaeden, and Kielee of Lakeside, Iowa; Step children Doug (Darla) Lockwood of Rembrandt, Iowa, Craig (Lorrie) Lockwood of Cherokee, Iowa, Tim (Jennifer) Lockwood of Cherokee, Iowa, Tamra (Mark) Wurth of Remsen, Iowa; many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; her sister Ann Moore of Lenox, Iowa and sister-in-law Nancy Rohner of Ankeny, Iowa.

The family would like to invite everyone to the Cherokee Golf Course for a time of lunch and fellowship following the services on Sunday.
