ERMA M. WOLTMAN, 94, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Visitation open to the public will be held on Friday, March 15th from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Private burial will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery. Erma was born March 24, 1918 in O'Brien County, Iowa to Charles and Henrietta (Ottzen) Meyer. She graduated from Cleghorn High School. She was married to Irvin Woltman on February 12, 1939 in rural Marcus, Iowa. The couple lived on a farm in Rock Township until 1977 when they moved to Cherokee. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee; the LWMLof the Church; being involved in the quilting and braille programs. She was also a member of the Happy Hookers Crochet Club. Erma enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Irvin on August 20, 1999, two brothers Alvin and Elmer Meyer and a sister Gladys Bork.
She is survived by her six children; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother Vernon (Leola) Meyer of Marcus, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
