EUGENE BROWN JR., 95, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Wednesday Evening February 15, 2017 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Eugene's wishes were to be cremated and there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Eugene was born on October 20, 1921 in Missouri. He was married to Louise Hanks in Missouri. He was later married to Donna Brown in June of 1991. He worked for a Turkey Processing Plant in Kansas City, Missouri and later worked for Tan Terra Resort in the Ozarks.
He was a member of the Heritage Bible Church. Eugene was a member of the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army as a member of the 14th Calvary. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and wrestling, going fishing, cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and drinking his coffee and hot chocolate.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives.
He is survived by three sons: Gary Gene (Linda) Brown of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; Jack Eugene Brown of Keysville, Louisiana; Chester Brown and his significant other Amy Strahmann of Larrabee, Iowa, 5 grandchildren: Tiffani Brown of Cherokee, Iowa; Beth (Rodney) Shreve of Cisne, Illinois; Gary Gene (Chris) Brown Jr. of Sedalia, Missouri; Tammy Brown of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; Blake Brown of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 7 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
