EVELYN C. BIERMAN, 83, of Holstein, Iowa, and former Cherokee resident passed away Tuesday evening, March 17, 2009 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 21st, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Larry Lemke will officiate. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Saturday. There will be no visitation. Evelyn was born July 8, 1925 in LeMars, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Borm) Erichsen. She was married to Donald Bierman on January 3, 1949 at Remsen, Iowa. They lived most of their life on a farm south of Remsen. They retired and moved to Cherokee in 1978. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Circle and a Friendship Club. She enjoyed needlepoint, embroidery, traveling and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald on February 7, 2006, one brother Elmer Erichsen and a brother-in-law Wesley Bierman.

She is survived by two daughters: Janice Heller of Kirkland, Washington; Judy Ehler and her husband David of Holstein, Iowa; four grandchildren: Alan Heller of Kirkland, Washington; Eric Ehler of San Francisco, California; Shawn Regennitter and her husband Brian of Rome, Georgia; Sara Ehler of Seattle, Washington; two great grandchildren: Tanner Regennitter and Bebe Ehler; two sisters-in-law: Vivianne Erichsen of Remsen, Iowa; Marian Bierman of Pierson, Iowa; also many loved nieces and one loved, favorite nephew.
