EVELYN  DORIS OLSON SCOTT , 98, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Friday morning, August 27, 2021 at her residence in Cherokee.

Graveside services will be on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. There will be no visitation. Evelyn Doris Scott was born on November 27, 1922 to Otto and Hattie Olson at Cherokee, Iowa.  She attended Cherokee High school and was united in marriage to Eldon L. Scott in 1942.  To this union, six children were born.

During WWII, Evelyn and her husband lived in Missouri and Texas while her husband served with the United States Army Air Force.  In 1945, the Scott family moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where Evelyn's husband worked as a jeweler and watchmaker for several years.  In the early 1950s, the family moved to Pocahontas, Iowa, where her husband owned and operated Scott Jewelry for 25 years.  The family was affiliated with the Lutheran Church.

In 1976, Evelyn and her husband moved to the Twin Cities, Minnesota and resided there for twenty years.  During this time, she worked as a caregiver in a nursing home and in private home health care.  Upon her husband's illness in 1996, she and Eldon moved to her hometown, Cherokee, Iowa to be near her sisters and brothers.

Evelyn loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two children David Scott and Douglas Scott and 14 brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law R. George Arnold.

Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Jean Scott of Wheaton, Illinois, Nancy Arnold of Henrico, Virginia, Peggy Scott of Lexington, Kentucky, one son, John Scott of Cherokee, Iowa, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, one sister, Anita Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
