EVERT JOSEPH BROWN, 46, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away at his home on Friday evening, August 19, 2011.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Robert Day will officiate. There will be no visitation. Evert's remains were cremated. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Evert was born on October 29, 1964 at Sioux City, Iowa to Evert & Cora (Wood) Brown. He was raised by his father & step-mother Evert & Janice Brown. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was united in marriage on April 4, 2008 to Jodie Myers at Ames, Iowa. He has worked for Tyson Foods in Cherokee for the past two years. He was a member of United Food & Commercial Worker's Union #179. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially nephew Payton Brown.

He was preceded in death by his mother in June 2010 and his maternal & paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Jodie; his father & step mother: Evert & Janice Brown of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; a son: Joshua Brown of Grandview, Missouri; step- children: Rhonda Damgar of Liberty, Missouri; Vinnie Bucciarelli of Liberty, Missouri; Theresa Hall of Kansas City, Missouri; Nicholas Kirk of Denison, Iowa and Penny Myers- Spitzenberger of Waukee, Iowa; 7 step-grandchildren & 5 step-great grandchildren; siblings: Robert (Karen) Day of Brookneal, Virginia; David Brown & Kim Gritten of Cherokee, Iowa; Randy Brown of Kansas City, Missouri; Lee (Debbie) Brown of Kansas City, Missouri; Aaron Brown & Melanie Wood of Kansas City, Missouri; many aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews.
