Obituary
FLORENZ A. MOHR, 93, of Quimby, Iowa and formerly of Washta passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 22nd, at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby, Iowa. Pastor Don Meyer and Vicar Scott Strohkirch will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Church on Monday. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothby funeral.com
Florenz was born April 30, 1920 at Midway, Iowa toFred and Helen (Haye) Brodersen. She attended school through the 8th grade and then went to work helping her parents. She was married to Wendell H. Mohr on April 22, 1942 at South Sioux City, Iowa. She had worked on a military base in California and Arizona, at Vilas in Storm Lake as an inspector and was a farm wife. She earned her GED in 1971. She had lived in Quimby since 2000, prior to this in Washta area for over 40 years. She was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby. She was also a member of the Naomi Circle, Sunset View Cemetery Association, the Progressive Club, American Legion Auxiliary, the Entre-Nous and the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren great grandchildren, doing quilting, gardening, reading and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendell December 8, 1994, two brothers and sisters-in-law Ewaldt (Betty) Brodersen, Elmer (Dorothy) Brodersen three sisters and brothers-in-law; Vernetta (Clarence) Abbe, Elaine (Phillip) McLean, Joan (Darrell) Slack, sister-in-law Hazel Mohr; nephews Kendall Brodersen, Michael Mohr, Mitchell Mohr,Randy Brodersen, and Dennis Abbe.
She is survived by her two children; Keith Mohr and his wife Michele of St. George, Utah,
Sue Woltman and her husband Merlin of Quimby, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Cindy (Bruce) Husman, Michael (Karen) Woltman, Jarod Mohr, 6 great grandchildren Alison, Lauren & Marc Husman; Vivian, Clark and Sylvia Woltman; a brother-in-law Robert E. Mohr of Cushing.
