Jerry “Scotty” Warrender, 85, of Washta, Iowa passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Cherokee Specialty Care.

Memorial services for Jerry will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home located at 207 E. Main Street in Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will take an hour prior to services beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. Ms. Sue Ritts will officiate. He was born July 29, 1940, in Cherokee, Iowa, the youngest son to Dalgarno and Lois (Hind) Warrender.

Jerry graduated from Quimby High School in 1959. He lived in Cherokee County for his entire life. He worked as a chartered bus driver for Arrow Stage Lines for 40 years, retiring in August of 2016.

Jerry married Marcia Davis on December 18, 1966, at the Quimby Methodist Church. He attended Washta Church of Faith. He enjoyed watching sports and western movies, listening to the scanner and visiting with people.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marty, his parents, his siblings Jim, John, Alex and Mary Ann, a grandson, Lucas Tassin and a great-granddaughter, Angel.

Jerry is survived by his children, Heather (Scott) McClelland of Des Moines, Iowa, Bill (Tricia) of LeGrand, Iowa, Josh (Amy) of Denver, Colorado and Sarah, also of Denver; his grandchildren Zachary and Brady McClelland, Tiffany Weis, Macy (Julien) Santiago, Alexis (Christian) Gonzales, Evan Warrender, Levi Tassin, Logan and Liberty Hemping and Shelby Clark; and his great-grandchildren Rylan, Nevaeh and Everly Santiago, Lizabeth Weis, Bowden Gonzales and Leland and Finley Tassin and by Marty’s siblings: Pat Hanson, Cheryl Schemmel and John (Nancy) Davis; many nieces and nephews.
