GLADYS PAULINE DAISY, 69, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Thursday morning, August 27, 2009 in the Countryside Estates in Cherokee, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 1st, at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Jim Steen will officiate. There will be a family prayer service at
1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation and time of sharing with the family present will be on Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com
Gladys was born on January 12, 1940 at Sioux City, Iowa to Harry & Catherine (Crump) Hendrickson. She was married to Francis Reed and to this union there were five children, Kevin, Michael, Craig, Lori and Nanette. She was then married to Richard Daisy and to this union a daughter Robin was born. She had been a resident of the Cherokee area most of her life. She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Hilltop Nursing Home in Cherokee and other Assisted Living facilities in the area. She also volunteered at the C.A.D.A. House in Cherokee. Gladys enjoyed collecting angels and loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Helen Furgason and Frances de St. Paer, and a grandson Michael McLaughlin.
She is survived by her six children: Kevin Reed and his wife Helen of Remsen, Iowa; Michael Reed and his wife Debra of Aurelia, Iowa; Craig Reed and his wife Kim of Fairmont, Minnesota; Lori Mews of Edgerton, Minnesota; Nanette McLaughlin of Akron, Iowa; Robin Jahn and her husband Scott of Johnston, Iowa; 35 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
