GLENDA G. SKADELAND, 89 , of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away at her residence on Friday evening, July 15, 2022.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor Michael Agnew will officiate.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20th, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present form 5-7 p.m.  at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Services will be livestreamed through the assistance of Fuller Digital Solutions on the Boothby Funeral Home website. Glenda was born on November 27, 1932 to Herbert and Hazel (Clow) Troxel at Sutherland, Iowa.  She attended Aurelia Schools, graduating in 1951.  She was united in marriage to Dale Skadeland on May 19, 1951 at Jackson, Minnesota.  Glenda and Dale raised their three children and she assisted Dale with whatever was needed on the farm.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

In her younger years, Glenda and Dale enjoyed traveling, camping and motorcycling.  Glenda loved baking, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. Whenever grandkids and great grandkids came to visit, she always sent them home with containers of cookies and scotcheroos.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dale on April 4, 2021; great grandson Masyn Johnson, brother William Troxel, infant brother Robert Troxel, two brothers-in-law Kenneth Skadeland and Larry Fritts.

Glenda is survived by her three children, Cindy Holm of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Terri (Dave) Sage of Sioux City, Iowa, and Dave Skadeland of Cherokee, Iowa; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Angie (Randy) Johnson and their children Mercer and Jamasyn, Andy (Erin) Holm and their child Elliot, Jayme (Vincent) Glassmaker and their children Bayle, Olivia, Lance, Isabelle and Samantha, Jason Skadeland and his daughter Willow, Jodi (Kyle) Johnson and their children Ayden, Jaycee, and Aria; one sister, Judy (Marlan) Grigsby of Denver, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Nakita Troxel of Socorro, New Mexico, Shirley Skadeland of Cherokee, Iowa, Norma Skadeland of Cherokee, Iowa and Jean Fritts of Minneapolis, Minnesota; also several nieces and nephews.
