GWEN L. MANN, 56, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Saturday morning, June 18, 2016 at her residence.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 24th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Cris Decious will officiate. It was Gwen's wish to be cremated and there will be no visitation. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Gwen was born on June 27, 1959 at Cherokee, Iowa to James & Judith Ann (Peterson) Garvin. She attended Cherokee Washington High School and later attained her GED. Gwen was married to Charles D. Mann on July 31, 1977 at the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa. She had worked at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute, Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital as a CNA and at the Country Side Estates. She had been a resident of Cherokee most of her life. Gwen enjoyed cooking, crafting, canning, reading, Farmville on Facebook, and loved spending time with her grandson Bradee. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Dinah Lynch, and father-in-law John Mann.

She is survived by her husband Charles, two sons: Keith Mann of Cherokee, Iowa; Chris Mann of Cherokee, Iowa; one grandson Bradee Mann; a brother Jim (Jeanette) Garvin of Clinton, Missouri; two sisters: Cathy Grengs of Turlock, California; Mary (Mitch) Marcellus of Canton, South Dakota; a brother-in-law Tom Lynch of Cushing, Iowa; mother-in-law Mary (Lyle) Minkler of Prescott, Arizona; Nephews: Collin, Garrett, and Jackson Garvin; Jesse and Justin Grengs; Jason (Shallynn) Mann, Josh (Ashley) Mann, and Jeremiah (Molly) Bakker;; Nieces: Jennifer (Nick) Ryen; Allison and Alex Lynch; Amy (Mike) Jessen; Erica Lammers, and Shannon Grengs.
