HARRY  F.  MANSFIELD , 84, of Pierson, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 30 th , at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Berth Lundula will officiate. Military rites will be conducted outside the funeral home following the memorial service. Visitation with the family present will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Harry was born on May 17, 1937 in a log house in Bennett County, South Dakota to Dale & Helen (Blankenfeld) Mansfield. He graduated from Quimby High School. Harry enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from September 22, 1955 until being honorably discharged on February 4, 1959. He was married to Anita Bobolz on December 29, 1957 at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee, Iowa.  To this union five children were born; Nanette, LuAnn, Mark, Daniel, and Matthew.

Harry had worked for McQueen Soft Water in Pierson for several years, owned and operated Mansfield Plumbing in Pierson for over 20 years, retiring in 1989. He had been a fireman and an EMT for the Pierson Volunteer Fire Department for many years; served as the Pierson Town Marshall for many years. He was a member of Little Sioux Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M. at Washta, Iowa.  He enjoyed riding horses and always had the dream of being a cowboy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Mark in 2020, brothers Keith Mansfield, Jim Mansfield, sisters Jean Ireland, Virginia Gagnon, Gail Reinert, Linda Flewelling, Judy Gross; brothers-in-law Ivan and Donald Bobolz, and sister-in-law Iva Hackett, brother-in-law and best friend Darrell Hackett and a nephew Charles Hackett.

He is survived by his wife Anita of Pierson, Iowa; four children: Nanette Mansfield of Pierson, Iowa and children Adam (Sonya) Carr and Alex Carr; LuAnn (Kent) Radford of Omaha, Nebraska and her children and their families Sara (Mark) Hayes and their children Chloe, Trinity and Tallon; Nickolas Long and Deniece Radford; Mark's children: Kassandra (Boomer) Klaschen and son Holden; Caitlin (Chris) Hofer and son Carter; Ethan Mansfield and Evan Mansfield; Daniel Mansfield (Terri Buckwald) of Sioux City, Iowa; Matthew (Jennifer) Mansfield of Sioux City, Iowa and their children and families Samantha (Joe) Voisine; Joslin Mansfield (Tyler) and children Alayna and Jaxton; Sean Mansfield (Jenna); his siblings  Richard (Linda) Mansfield of LeMars, Iowa, Audrey Niefer of Phillip, South Dakota, Betty (Darwin) Schmidt of Fairmont, Minnesota; sister-in-law LaVonne Wright of Sioux City, Iowa; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
