HOWARD D. McCOY, 79 of Quimby, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 08, 2015 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Quimby United Methodist Church. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m.at the church on Saturday. Visitation will be from

Howard was born September 9, 1935 in Silver Township, Cherokee Co., Iowa to Howard Smith McCoy and Sylvie (Hickman) McCoy. He graduated from Quimby High School in 1953. He was married to Shirley Ludvigson on June 5, 1955 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein. He had worked at Simonsen Industries for 45 years retiring on October 31, 2000. He served on the Quimby Fire Department for 25 years, the Quimby Town Council for 10 years and was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working on cars, music, and visiting with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Bonnie, brother-in-law Mike Stanford, sister-in-law Mary Ann Fassler, and two brothers-in-law Virgil and Kenny Ludvigson.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and two daughters; Cynthia Ann Tonne and her husband Gene of Fairmont, Minnesota; Sandra Kay Kabrich and her husband Dr. Chet McLaughlin of Selah, Washington; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; Erin (Josiah) Newendorp and their sons Nathaniel & Joel of Waukee, Iowa; Heidi Tonne of Omaha, Nebraska; Molly (Michael) Weinberger and daughter Matilda of Menasha, Wisconsin; Jayme (Brad) Walsh and their children Garrett & Lyla of Yakima, Washington; Kaitlin Kabrich of Elmhurst, New York; Lacy (Dan) Siegel of Seattle, Washington; a sister Opal Stanford of Humboldt, Iowa.; brothers-in-law Franklin (Kathy) Ludvigson of Paullina, Iowa, Jim Fassler of Quimby, Iowa; sisters-in-law; Annabelle (Chuck) Prunty of Cherokee, Iowa; Kathleen Ludvigson of Washta, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
