HOWARD A.  TVEITNES , 91, of rural Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Sunday evening, February 16, 2020 at his farm home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21 ^st , at 11 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Cris Decious will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa with military rites by L.A. Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W. and the Cherokee American Legion. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday. Howard was born on March 30, 1928 at Sioux City, Iowa to Arthur & Bernice (Coburn) Tveitnes. He graduated from Meriden High School in 1946. He was married to Donna Fee on January 20, 1951 at Jackson, Minnesota. He farmed for many years and had also been a courier driver for Sanford Health of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He had been a resident of Cherokee County most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and visiting with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dolores Jensen.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years Donna of Cherokee, Iowa; two sons: Donald (Tina) Tveitnes of Norwalk, Ohio; Troy Tveitnes of Muskego, Wisconsin; one grandson: Zachary Tveitnes of Seward, Nebraska; one brother: Jerald (Mary Ann) Tveitnes of Columbia, Missouri.
