IVA L. JULIUS, 84, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday evening, September 7, 2016 in the Cherokee Specialty Care (Cherokee Villa).

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Ray Kruger will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Iva was born on June 12, 1934 at Volin, South Dakota to Loral and Effie (Snow) Whisler. She graduated from Cherokee Wilson High School in 1950. She was married to Dale Julius on March 31, 1951 at Jackson, Minnesota. Iva and her husband owned and operated Julius Cleaners & Decorating for many years until their retirement. She was a member of B.P.W. Iva enjoyed bowling, spending time with her family and grandchildren and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mary Ballantyne

She is survived by her husband Dale of Cherokee, Iowa; four children: Dennis (Diane) Julius of Storm Lake, Iowa; Alan (Susan) Julius of Cherokee, Iowa; Marsha (Rory) Ruble of Cherokee, Iowa; Sandra (Denny) Thompson of Mesquite, Nevada; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one sister: Linda (Willy) Rohlf of Palmer, Iowa; brother-in-law Howard Ballantyne of Aurelia, Iowa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Loy & Anne Julius of Anthem, Arizona; also many nieces and nephews.
