JACK D. HILL, 77, of Sutherland, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, February 23, 2025 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Jack was born on July 31, 1947 to Myron and Bertina (Axdahl) Hill at Hartley, Iowa.  He graduated from Sutherland High School and went on to attend Mankato State University.  He was united in marriage to Betty Boothby in 1983 in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  He worked for Tyson Foods in Cherokee for 29 years, retiring in October 2014.  He owned and operated Hill Christmas Tree Farm in Sutherland, Iowa.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, birdwatching, and he collected stamps for over 70 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Bertina Hill.

Jack will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Betty of Sutherland, Iowa; children Patrick and Tasha Hill of Sutherland, Iowa, Laura DeMars of Greenville, South Carolina, Derek and Sara Hill of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Emily and Matt Miranda of Hanover, Minnesota, and Scott and Amy Elrod of Sutherland, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great grandchildren; brother Norm and Nancy Hill of Sutherland, Iowa.
