JAMES DALE JENNESS , 75, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Quimby, Iowa, passed away Sunday evening, August 30,2020 in the Iowa Veteran's Home at Marshalltown.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 12th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Cris Decious will officiate. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by L.A. Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W. and the Cherokee American Legion. James was born on August 2, 1945 at Cherokee, Iowa to John D. and Lois (Smith) Jenness. He grew up in the Quimby area and graduated from Willow Community High School in 1965 and then attended college for two years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army. James was a truck driver for several years and had also worked as a Telemarketer.
He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed kayaking and putting together small models.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marcella Keyes.
He is survived by his two children: James D. Jenness of Quimby, Iowa; Janet (Dan) Kuhnes of Lakeville, Minnesota; one granddaughter Kinsley Kuhnes; a sister Patricia (Jerry) Leslie of Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law Jack Keyes of Fair Grove, Missouri; also several nieces and nephews.
