Janelle Lynn (Mews) Greer, 53, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Cherokee Specialty Care.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Boothby Funeral Home. Pastor Jonathan Caldwell will officiate. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her name to Cherokee Regional Hospice.

Janelle was born to Freddy and Bernadette (Schwebach) Conley on October 5, 1967 at Cherokee, Iowa.  She attended Willow Community Schools, graduating in 1986.  She began working at the Best Western La Grande Hacienda in Cherokee, Iowa, working in all aspects of the hotel.  She was married to Patrick Greer on September 29, 2001.

Janelle was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.  She had a passion for art. In her free time, she enjoyed drawing and painting. Janelle also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and caring for her dogs, Sophie and Chloe.

Janelle was preceded in death by her parents.

Left to cherish Janelle's memory are her siblings, Georgia (Bob) Broderson of Paullina, Iowa, Roxy (Dean) Pottebaum of Paullina, Iowa, Jim (Lynette) Conley of Marcus, Iowa, Dan (Susan) Conley of Victoria, Texas, Marveen (Dan) Sorensen of Pella, Iowa, Iowa,  Deb (Lyle) Paulsen of Washta, Iowa, Barb (Roger) Lindstrom of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mike (Pam Underwood) Mews of Cherokee, Iowa; also many nieces and nephews.

Janelle will be dearly missed by those who knew her and loved her…
