JENEEN  L.  LEEDS , 81, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Saturday evening, March 25, 2023 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Mark Leeds will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at the Cedar Cemetery, Larrabee, Iowa.   Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home. Jeneen was born on February 5, 1942 at Cherokee, Iowa to Glen and Romaine (Grove) Anderson.  She attended Cherokee Schools, graduating in 1960.  She was united in marriage to Lewis Leeds on November 25, 1960 at the Grace Baptist Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

She was a bus driver for the Cherokee Public School system for 27 years. Jeneen retired in 2003.

She was a member of the Heritage Bible Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, watching Fox News, sending cards and letters to family and friends, watching high school basketball games, and attending her grandchildren's events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Romaine Anderson, two sons, Steven and David Leeds, parents-in-law, Clayton and Mable Leeds, and sister, Nancy Johnson.

Jeneen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lewis Leeds of Cherokee, Iowa; children, Barb Leeds of Friendswood, Texas, Marsha (Scott) Sund of Quimby, Iowa, and Mark (Melissa) Leeds of Cherokee, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jessica Jorgenson, Rubi (Jediah) Van Unen, Kyle Leeds, Kassie Leeds, Kaiden Leeds, Katelyn Leeds, and Alex Leeds; 2 great grandchildren, Calleigh Jorgenson and Riley Van Unen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Johnson of Marcus, Iowa; Leon (Bertie) Leeds of Waupaca, Wisconsin and Lorne (Macil) Leeds of Kansas City, Missouri; also several nieces and nephews.
