JEROLYN F. RUDEN, 79, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Careage Hills Nursing Home in Cherokee, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Mark Leeds will officiate.   Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Jerolyn was born on December 21, 1945 to George and Frances (Carrington) Bainbridge.  She graduated from Quimby High School in 1964 and went on to the University of Iowa to get her nursing degree.  She was united in marriage to Francis Ruden and they had two sons, Shawn and Brian.

She worked as a nurse at Heartland Care Center until her retirement in 2005.

She was affiliated with the Lutheran Church.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her sons and watching the Iowa State Cyclones.  She loved watching westerns, crocheting, and just sitting and chatting in her chair.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, son Shawn Ruden, mother-in-law and father-in-law Marie and Francis Ruden Sr.

Jerolyn is survived by her son, Brian Ruden (Tina Olson) of Cherokee, Iowa; grandchildren, Robert Krause, Danielle Olson, Isabelle Olson, Justin Reese, and Crystal Reese; 5 great grandchildren; and one brother Steven Bainbridge; brothers-in-law Paul and Denise Ruden and Nick Ruden; also several nieces and nephews.
