JOHN  D.  TSCHETTER , 74, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2022 at Careage Hills in Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Mike Agnew will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa at a later date.

Public visitation will be on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7 p.m. The service will be livestreamed on the Boothby Funeral Home website through the assistance of Fuller Digital Solutions. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

John was born on October 30, 1947 to Dan and Mary (Stahl) Tschetter at Graceville, Minnesota.

He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Jacobson on July 7, 1972 at Breckenridge, Minnesota.

John worked at the St. Francis Nursing Home, Burlington Northern Railroad, and then Wilson's, which later became Continental Deli and Tyson Foods. He had 40 years of service in the meat packing industry before his retirement in 2011.

In his spare time, he enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Happy Chef when it was open, woodworking, and growing tomatoes in his garden.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Leonard Tschetter and Richard Tschetter.

He is survived by his children, Teresa Tschetter of Cherokee, Iowa, Alisa (Jake Hofer) Tschetter Hofer of Blaine, Washington, and Anthony Tschetter of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Rachael (Mike) Wipf of Cherokee, Iowa and brother Ben (Cande) Tschetter of Clarkston, Michigan.
