JOY ANNE WESTCOTT, 64, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at her home in Cherokee, Iowa.

It was Joy’s wish to be cremated. Public visitation with the family present will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 4:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home located at 207 E. Main Street in Cherokee, Iowa. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Joy was born on May 29, 1962 to Wilbur and Irene (Becker) Snapp at Cherokee, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Cherokee Washington High School. She was united in marriage on September 4, 1982 to Chuck Wescott, they later divorced but remained very good friends.

She moved to Vancouver, Washington and began working for Fred Meyer Grocery Store. She later relocated back to Cherokee and worked for Hy-Vee Grocery Store for 20 years.

Joy was a member of the Catholic Church.

In her free time she loved to read, go to the movies and take care of her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Irene Snapp, grandparents, brother Larry Snapp, and an infant sister Mary Jane Snapp.

She is survived by her siblings, Holly Swartzbaugh of Mitchellville, Iowa, John Snapp of Cherokee, Iowa, Jim Snapp of Cherokee, Iowa, and Pete Snapp of Cherokee, Iowa, Lisa (Timothy) Perrin of Cherokee, Iowa, Laurie Bibler of Cherokee, Iowa, Steven (Kristin) Snapp of Hutchinson, Minnesota, and Sara (Jimmy) Snapp of Lincoln City, Oregon; also numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Willa Campbell.
