KATHRYN L. LEONARD , 73, of Correctionville, Iowa, formerly of Washta, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, November 3, 2020 at her residence in Correctionville.

Private family services will be held. There will be no visitation. Burial of the cremains will be in the Quimby Cemetery at a later date. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Kathryn was born on April 29, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa to Roy & Nancy (Scott) Myers. She graduated from Willow High School. She was married to Wayne C. Leonard on July 14, 1965 at Washta, Iowa. She was a farmwife helping her husband wherever he needed help, besides being a housewife and raising their family.

She enjoyed fishing in her younger years, cooking, playing bingo, spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She had lived in Correctionville since 1998 and prior to this had lived in the Washta area.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Leonard in 1995, father Roy Myers, mother and step-father Nancy and Vern Groth, two brothers Keith and Kevin, and a niece Gina Edwards.

She is survived by three children: Kelly Leonard of Correctionville, Iowa; Kim (Mike) Sevening of Correctionville, Iowa; Sherry Mathis of Fort Dodge, Iowa; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren: Joshua (Amanda) Mathis of Spencer, Iowa and their children Jaycee and Jameson; Amanda Mathis of Fort Dodge, Iowa and her children Emma, Bentley, and Dannilyn; Kaitlyn Sevening of Correctionville, Iowa and her special friend Dom Schirmer; Kayden Sevening of Correctionville, Iowa; two brothers: Kenny Myers of Phoenix, Arizona; Kim (Sandie) Groth of Seneca, Missouri.
