KEITH M. "PETE" GRAYSON, 65, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home in Cherokee.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 21st, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home at Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Robin Thomas will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be in the Cedar Cemetery at Larrabee, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Pete was born on May 31, 1951 at Cherokee, Iowa to Merle & Margaret (Bravard) Grayson. He attended Larrabee Consolidated School and graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1969. He had worked for Wilson Foods, farmed, drove truck for various trucking companies, and also owned and drove his own truck. He retired in 2006 due to health issues. He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Pete belonged to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association- Chapter S and Chapter CC, and the Western Iowa Cycle Riders of which he was the current president. He enjoyed golfing, target shooting, watching old westerns and sporting events on TV, and loved riding his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his parents Merle & Margaret Grayson, his aunt Gladys Grayson, brother-in-law Jim "Packy" Saxen, and a great niece Gabrielle Kellen.

He is survived by his four siblings: Steve (Julie) Grayson of Paullina, Iowa; Rhonda Saxen of Cherokee, Iowa; Mabeth (Denny) Kraft of Larrabee, Iowa; Craig (Melody) Grayson of Mason City, Iowa; five nieces and their families: Tammy (Mark) Whittle and her children Justin, Cody, and Brycen; Kara (Mike) Thompson and their children Cade and Audra; Stephanie (Travis) Flegler and his son Jordan; Samantha Grayson and her son Brayden; Melissa (Karl) Kellen and their children Emily, Avery, Zach, Allison, Morgan, and Mason.
