KENNETH  I. "Kenny" ANDERSON, 94, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, July 30, 2023 at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, Iowa.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa.   There will be no visitation. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Kenny was born on March 23, 1929 at Alta, Iowa.

Kenny worked for Iowa Electric Light and Power, which later became Alliant Energy for 35 ½ years before retiring in 1986.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa and was a member of the Cherokee Lions Club.

In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, woodworking, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Debra Davis, stepdaughter Jerri Frangenberg, and stepson Fred Frangenberg.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Joan Anderson of Cherokee, Iowa; children, Dennis Anderson, Diane (Wayne) Merritt, both of San Diego, California; stepchildren, Lucille Meadows of Chico, California, and Rena Frangenberg of Cherokee, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.
