KEVIN K. KUHNES , 70, of Cleghorn, Iowa passed away on Sunday afternoon, February 20, 2022 at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Cleghorn, Iowa.  Mr. David Orthmann will officiate. Kevin was born on May 25, 1951 to Kenneth and Carol (Green) Kuhnes at Mitchell, South Dakota.  At the age of 12, they moved to the Cleghorn, Iowa area.  He graduated from Meriden-Cleghorn High School in 1969.  Kevin enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years, including a year in Germany.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Holland on June 2, 1973.  They made their home in Cleghorn and were blessed with six children, Angela, Heather, Daniel, Jennifer, Dawn, and Kimberly. Kevin worked for Ron and Sandy Wetherell at Wetherell Manufacturing beginning at the young age of 14 on weekends and after school.  He worked for almost 50 years until Parkinson's and a fall forced him into early retirement.

Kevin loved spending time with his family, camping, boating, and his John Deere garden tractor. He served on the Cleghorn Fire Department for many years.  He served on the session at First Presbyterian Church in Cleghorn.

Kevin was preceded in death by his daughter Angela, sister Dawn, his parents, grandparents, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Bailus (Dutch) and Bette Holland, and sister-in-law Charlotte Kuhnes.

Left to cherish Kevin's memory are his wife, Barb; children, Heather (Travis) Anderson, Daniel (Janet) Kuhnes, Jennifer (Tracy) Huff, Dawn (Mark) Stephenson, and Kimberly (John) Schleef; son-in-law Michael Dowden; 11 grandchildren, Ezri and Kira Dowden, Thomas, Abigail, Julien, and Cole Plum, Kinsley Kuhnes, Treton, Addison, and Jordan Huff, and Izabelle Stephenson; siblings, Marlene (Alan) Johnson, Jeanine (Tim) Morrow, Dwight (Vickie) Kuhnes, Maynard (Charlotte) Kuhnes, Lorna (Brett) Lowrey, Melanie (Michael) Tucker, and Anita (Tal) Stieg; also several nieces and nephews.
