KIMBERLY J. TAPPER-COUCH, 67, of Casa Grande, Arizona, formerly of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at her home in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Alan Cummins will officiate. Visitation with the family present will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Boothby Funeral Home located at 207 E. Main Street in Cherokee, Iowa. Kim was born on August 4, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa to Orville and Doloris (Nelson) Tapper. She graduated from Willow Community High School in 1976 and went on to continue her education at Western Iowa Tech, where she received her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree.
Kim worked a variety of jobs over the years being a certified nursing assistant, licensed vocational nurse, accounts payable clerk, licensed real estate agent, certified residential lawn and plant irrigation technician, licensed motorcycle courier, swimming pool service technician, church office clerk, residential property maintenance repair and improvement technician, and live in EOL Geriatric Patient Care. The jobs Kim loved the most were being a full time mom and loving wife.
She was a member of the Calvary Chapel Church and the Goldwing Road Riders Association. In her free time, she enjoyed riding her motorcycle, swimming, sewing, and cross stitch.
She was preceded in death by her father Orville Tapper, grandparents John and Lillian Tapper and Sig and Marie Nelson, uncles Raymond and Lester Tapper, Kenneth Nelson, and aunt sDorothy Tapper-Hein, Arlene Stohrer, Doris Watson, and Betty Kolpin.
Kim is survived by her husband Jack Couch of Casa Grande, Arizona; children Shauna Gauthier of Fresno, California and Gregory (Amanda) Gauthier of Riverside, California; four grandchildren Kayleen, Kylah, Violette, and Grey; one great grandchild Ahlia; mother Doloris Tapper of Marcus, Iowa; brothers Kevin (JoAnne) Tapper of Quimby, Iowa and Kyle (Sandy) Tapper of Marcus, Iowa; aunt Norma Fox of Aurelia, Iowa and Shirley Drzycimski of Storm Lake, Iowa; also a few nieces, nephews and many cousins.
