LELA E. HUFFMAN, 94, of Washta, Iowa, passed away peacefully, Monday morning, February 5, 2018 at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor John Riebhoff will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset View Cemetery at Washta, Iowa. There will be family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Lela was born September 7, 1923 at Washta, Iowa to James & Iva (Johnson) Small. She was married to Lloyd E. Huffman on February 17, 1943 at South Sioux City, Nebraska. She was a homemaker all her life, living in the Washta area most of her life. Lela enjoyed crocheting, word search books and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd on November 20, 1974, 3 brothers Orville, Albert and Arnold Small, 2 sisters-in-law Betty Small and Maye Small, a granddaughter Peggy Stieneke, and a great great grandson Ryker Lepley.
She is survived by her two daughters: Judy Stieneke of Washta, Iowa; Joyce (Willie) Allbaugh of Quimby, Iowa; grandchildren: Juanita Stieneke, Wanda Stieneke, Darlene Stieneke, Susan (Shawn) Allen, Bryan (Amy Johnson) Stieneke, Rachel Stieneke, Jeff (Amy) Allbaugh, Gary (Tami) Allbaugh, Mike (Kirsten Siegel) Allbaugh, Chris (Lea) Allbaugh; great grandchildren: Kelsey, Cassandra, Jessica, Jamie, Coy, Alicia, Will, Bayley, Dustin, Brittany, Ethan, Lacey, Riley, Keegan, Mailey, Ryon, Amanda, Alex, Hailey, and Harrison; 8 great great grandchildren.
