LeRoy F. Richardson, 95, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Heartland Care Center in Marcus, Iowa.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Philip Beisswenger will officiate. The Boothby Funeral Home of Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

Roy was born on July 18, 1930 to Lester and Esther (Zinn) Richardson at Storm Lake, Iowa.  He attended country schools in Grand and Providence Townships and graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1947.  In November of 1950, he married Delores Brown and together they raised their family of three children, Dian, David, and Tina.  In 1951, Roy left the farm to join the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was discharged as a staff sergeant in November of 1954, resuming this farming near Storm Lake until 1963.  In January of 1964, he moved to Cherokee and entered the wholesale auto parts business, Brown Auto Supply.

After retiring in 1993, winter months were spent in the south.  His interests were golfing, woodworking, trailering, and flying.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; wife Delores Richardson, brother Donald Richardson and sister and brother-in-law  Carolyn and Francis Wiley.

LeRoy is survived by his three children, Dian Bleil of Cherokee, Iowa, David (Sue) Richardson of Tucson, Arizona, and Linda "Tina" (Scott) Potter of Waterville, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Libby (Rick) Beckman, Lacey Bleil, Meg Bleil, Heather and her children, and Lindy and her children; 5 great grandchildren, Grace Bennett, Elexis Hamman, Aiden McDonald, Marcus Bleil, and Mallory Bleil; sisters-in-law, Barbara  Leonard of Grand Junction, Colorado and Betty Richardson of Storm Lake, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
