Lois "Pinky" Person, age 95, of Cherokee, IA, formerly of Plato MN, Hector MN, Neillsville WI, Redwood Falls MN, Pittsfield CT, and Schenectady NY, passed away on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, at Cherokee Specialty Care. A Minnesota memorial service will be held in Plato, MN on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, at St Paul's UCC. Visitation in the Fellowship Hall is from 10-11:30am. Funeral service in the sanctuary at 11:30am. Everyone is welcome to a luncheon after in the church basement.

Known to those in Cherokee as Pastor Pinky, Lois Ann (Pinske) Person was born on August 9th, 1928 in Plato, MN to Edward H. and Sidonia (Wolff) Pinske. She attended primary school in Plato and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1946. In 1950 she married Lee D. Person from Hector, MN, and later divorced. She co-owned Personality Flowers in Redwood Falls, and later kept up with her craft of floral arranging in multiple jobs and self-employment. After  graduating from Rhema Bible Training College, she was ordained with AFCM International (Willmar, MN). She had placements in Pittsfield, CT, and Schenectady, NY. She eventually landed in Cherokee in 2000 at the Faith in Christ Fellowship church, serving there until late 2021. Since then the wonderful staff and volunteers at Cherokee Specialty Care and Cherokee Regional Hospice have been caring for her needs. Her family is very grateful.

She is survived by her two children Mark R. (Paula) Person of Faribault and Amy Person (Keith Johnsen) of Minneapolis; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Carrie) Person of Lakeville and Christopher Person of Syracuse, NY; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Samuel Person; brother Thomas (Olive) Pinske of Plato; sister-in-law Arlene Pinske of Gaylord; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
