LOREN R. WOLTMAN , 83, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Friday evening, May 23, 2025 at Accura Healthcare in Cherokee, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Pastor Mike Agnew will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Loren was born on December 6, 1941 to Ralph and Fern (Bierman) Woltman at Marcus, Iowa. He graduated from Marcus High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Darlene M. Gregg at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on July 14, 1963.
Loren farmed for many years and retired from farming in 1997. He then worked at Wells Blue Bunny in LeMars, Iowa in the maintenance department. He retired from Wells Blue Bunny in 2012.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He had been a member of 4H, member of Cherokee County Cattlemen's Association, and member of Pheasants Forever.
In his free time Loren enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulling, fabricating, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Fern Woltman, brother-in-law Steve Millikan, sister-in-law Rachel Woltman.
Loren is survived by his wife, Darlene Woltman of Cherokee, Iowa; three children Dana (Kim) Woltman of Newell, Iowa, Brian (Janet) Woltman of Cherokee, Iowa, and Kyle (Candace) Woltman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, Derek Woltman, Lauren Woltman, Allison Larsen, Brad Woltman, Hannah Kalm, Alivia Woltman, Mya Woltman, Bradey Green, Bailey Green, Allison Hoberman, Kelsey Allen, and Jessica van Aanholt; 19 great grandchildren; siblings Gerald Woltman of Cherokee, Iowa, Dale (Paulette) Woltman of Shawnee, Kansas, Joan Millikan of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Randy (Carol) Woltman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; also several nieces and nephews.
