LOUISE  M.  DOBSON , 88, of Holstein, Iowa, passed away, Thursday afternoon, March 4, 2021 at Holstein Senior Living in Holstein, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa.  Pastor David Hall will officiate.  Burial of the cremains will be in the  Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Louise was born on October 26, 1932 to John and Leona (Jetter) Scherner at Griggs Township, Ida County, Iowa.  She attended Holstein Community Schools graduating in 1950.  She was united in marriage to Vaughn Dobson on November 11, 1955.  She worked for New York Life Insurance in Omaha, Nebraska.  They moved to Storm Lake, where she worked for Security National Bank.  Over the years, she and her husband lived in various other places Waterloo, Iowa, Raytown, Missouri, Denver, Colorado, and Sun City Center, Arizona, eventually returning to Holstein, Iowa.

She was a member of the First Church of Christ.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, and motorcycle trips.  She was an avid fan of jigsaw puzzles and was an animal lover, especially dogs.  She loved spending time with family and friends.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Alma (Kermit) Hase and Esther (Harry) Endrulat, brothers Arnold (Mildred) Scherner, Harry (Jean) Scherner and John (Delories) Scherner, and brother-in-law Eugene Persinger.

She is survived by her sister, Shirley Scherner Persinger of Onawa, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.
