Lowell P. McIntosh,
94, of Cleghorn, Iowa passed away Tuesday evening, January 30, 2018 in the Heartland Care Center at Marcus, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on
Saturday, February 17, 2018
at the First Presbyterian Church in Cleghorn, Iowa. Burial will be in the Liberty Township Cemetery, rural Meriden, Iowa at a later date. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Saturday. The Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. Lowell was born January 18, 1924 at Cleghorn, Iowa to William & Agnes (Resene) McIntosh. He graduated from Cleghorn High School in 1943. He was a Veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy from 1945 – 1946 as a Seaman First Class. Lowell was married to Joyce Ohlson on February 26, 1949 at Cherokee, Iowa. He had farmed all of his life, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cleghorn and the American Legion. Lowell enjoyed fishing, reading, and watching baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents his wife Joyce on May 24, 2015, a brother Dale, and sisters Marg, June and Dorothy.
He is survived by three children: David (Minnie) McIntosh of Marcus, Iowa; Douglas (Joyce) McIntosh of Alexandria, Minnesota; DeeAnn (Keith) Grove of Andover, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister: Norma Jean McKercher of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a brother Bill (Mary) McIntosh of Cleghorn, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
