LUCILLE C.  KLEDIS , 100, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away Sunday morning, October 21, 2018 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24 ^th , at 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Jean Morse will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12 Noon until service time at the church. Lucille was born May 23, 1918 at Alta, Iowa to Arthur & Martha (Erickson) Johnson. She graduated from Alta High School in 1936. She attended Sioux City Cosmetology School and then was a beautician in Cherokee for several years. She was a wonderful mother, raising her nine children. She also worked for the Cherokee Community Schools in the Hot Lunch Program for many years, retiring in 1988.

Lucille was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, crocheting, cross stitch, watching basketball and golf, feeding and watching the birds outside her window, cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gladys Johnson, son-in-law Dave Darbyshire, the father of her children John M. Kledis.

She is survived by her nine children: Jonille Darbyshire of Frankfurt, KY; John (Joie) Kledis of Asheville, NC; Janelyn Johnson of Sioux City, IA; Jarel (Linda) Kledis of Asheville, NC; Jerene Clement of Mankato, MN; James (Joanne) Kledis of Kansas City, MO; Jeffrey Kledis of Colorado Springs, CO; Javonne Kledis of Phoenix, AZ; Jazelle Garcon of Coral Springs, FL; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter.
