MARGARET M. "MARGE" TILTON, 89, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Countryside Estates in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Gregg Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Afton Township Cemetery, rural Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral hom eon Tuesday. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday and also continue on Tuesday with the family present from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Marge was born August 17, 1921 at Sutherland, Iowa to Emil and Maria (Peper) Selk. She graduated from Sutherland High School in 1938. She was married to Francis Tilton on July 6, 1941 at Nashua, Iowa. Marge worked as a sales clerk for Alton Grocery and Coast to Coast Store in Cherokee. She had lived in Cherokee all her married life. She was an honorary member of the Iowa State Sheriffs and Deputies Association. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 19, 2000, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Clarence and Lydia Tilton, also 4 brothers and one sister.

She is survived by one sister; Dorothy Triplett of Puyallup, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
