MARGIE (TARBILL) VAN ROEKEL, 66, of Kansas City, Mo. and formerly of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the North Kansas City Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23rd at 2 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Ethan Sayler will officiate. Burial will be in the Afton Township Cemetery at rural Cherokee, Iowa. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born on March 20, 1943, in Cherokee, Iowa to Robert and Marion Jackson. She resided in Gladstone, Missouri for 24 years, prior to this she was a resident of Cherokee County for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents: J. Lee and Geneva Ware; and son-in-law: Chester "Chet" Feuerborn.

She is survived by her husband: Vern; one son and five daughters: Steve Tarbill and wife Deb of Aurelia, Iowa, Elizabeth Tarbill (Terry) of Cherokee, Iowa, Geneva Feuerborn of Cherokee, Iowa, Shelly Moore and husband Randy of Glenwood, Iowa, Christine Avila (Stephen) of Gladstone, Missouri, Molly Jones and her husband Erik of Gladstone, Missouri; five step-children: Sue, Kevin, Twila, Missy and Karla; 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister: Iris Litterick and husband Gaylord of Beatrice, Nebraska; 2 sister-in-laws, 2 brother-in-laws, 12 nephews and nieces, and 14 great-nephews and nieces.
