MARGO A. TOWNSEND , 57, of Quimby, Iowa, passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2020 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

Margo was born on February 10, 1963 at Early Iowa to Don & Donna (Tutt) Haack. She graduated from Crestland High School in 1981 and then attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake graduating with a Business in Education Degree. She was married to John Townsend on November 24, 1984 at Early, Iowa.
Professionally Margo served the United States Post Office from 1988 until 2019 being the Postmaster in Nemaha, Washta, Kingsley, and Cherokee, Iowa. She was also a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS).
Margo loved bowling and giving back to youth bowling. She and John were coaches for the Cherokee USBC Youth Bowling Association for many years. Margo served as the Director for the Iowa Youth State Pepsi tournament as well as on the Board of Directors for the Iowa USBC Youth Bowling Association for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband John of Quimby, Iowa; one daughter: Makala (Andy) Diercks and their children Alex and Mekena; one brother: Brian "Chop" Haack of Newell, Iowa; three nieces and one nephew: Saidee Haack, Tessa Haack, Cheyanne Haack, and Jesse Haack; one great niece: Donna Haack; a brother-in-law: Lowell Townsend of Cherokee, Iowa; a sister-in-law: Helen McGowan of Alta, Iowa; a special friend: Tom Sieders of Quimby, Iowa.
