MARIE NOBLITT, 89, of Cherokee, Iowa and formerly of Winnebago, Minnesota, passed away Monday evening February 13, 2017 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Winnebago, Minnesota. Pastor Daren Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery at Winnebago, Minnesota. It was Marie's wish to be cremated. There will be no visitation. Marie was born on November 22, 1927 at Neodesha, Kansas to Walter A. & Zura Treva (Gobel) Mason. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1945. Marie was married to Robert B. Noblitt on July 6, 1946 at Neodesha, Kansas. She had worked as a telephone switchboard operator for many years in several communities and supported her husband in his ministry. She and her husband had lived in Cherokee, Iowa for several years in the 1960's and 1970's and also in Livingston, Montana, and Winnebago, Minnesota. She had been a member of the Mt Olive Baptist Church at rural Cherokee, was a current member of the First Baptist Church in Winnebago, as well as serving with the American Baptist Women. Marie enjoyed quilting, sewing and embroidery, sharing them with missions and other charities. She loved traveling, camping, spending time with family and church activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rev. Robert B. Noblitt, sisters and brothers-in-law Catherine and Glen Healy, Shirley and Elmer Deer.
She is survived by her two children: Patricia Ann (Floyd) Kusie of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Kenneth C. (Becky) Noblitt of Cherokee, Iowa; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Donna (Robert Hastings of Modesto, California; brother Walter A. (Jeannie) Mason Jr. of Arlington, Texas; also several nieces and nephews.
