MARJORIE J. FRISBIE, 85, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Friday evening, February 5, 2016 in Cherokee Specialty Care.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10th, at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Jon Riggert will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 1:15 p.m.at the church on Wednesday. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Marjorie was born on July 26, 1930 in LeMars, Iowa to Theodore & Ina (Knight) Krekow. She graduated from Marcus High School in 1948. She then taught country school at Tilden #2. She played catcher for the Marcus Red Wing Softball Club after high school. Marjorie later attended Wayne State College and Buena Vista College graduating with a teaching degree. She was married to Roger Frisbie on June 12, 1955 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, south of Marcus, Iowa. She taught school for 42 ½ years, teaching in the Meriden and Cherokee School Systems. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Marjorie enjoyed bowling, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother James Krekow.

She is survived by her husband Roger; daughter Lori (Robert) Mohr of DeWitt, Iowa; three grandchildren: Mitchell, Megan and Alexandra Mohr; two great grandchildren: Parker and Kenley Friederichs; two sisters: Marvel Bolick of Austin, Texas; Susan (Jack) Gano of Clive, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
