Obituary

MARJORIE L.  LUNDQUIST , 98, of rural Meriden, Iowa passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 9, 2018 in Careage Hills at Cherokee, Iowa

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14 th , at 11 a.m. at the Meriden Evangelical Free Church in Meriden, Iowa. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Burial will be in the Liberty Township Cemetery at rural Meriden, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Marjorie was born October 25, 1919 in Rock Township, Cherokee County, Iowa to Claude & Laura (Pfiefer) Peck. She graduated from Meriden High School in 1938. She was married to Willard Lundquist on August 23, 1940 at Cherokee, Iowa. Marjorie did house cleaning and Day Care for children for 60 years. She was a charter member of the Meriden Evangelical Free Church, taught Sunday school for a number of years, was active in the F.C.W.M. and the White Cross. She enjoyed baking cookies, ceramics and bird watching.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Steven in 1968, her husband Willard in 1994, step-son Duane in 1998, two son-in-laws Virgil Riedemann in 2013 and Leonard Kuester in 2013; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Vera (Edwin) Buckendahl, Marie (Bob) Sand, Walter (Penny) Peck, Betty (Bruce) Cranston, Wilmer (Helen) Peck.

She is survived by her two children: Gary (Lynde) Lundquist of Cherokee, Iowa; Patricia Riedemann of Cherokee, Iowa; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren: Jeff (Lisa) Lundquist of Meriden, Iowa and their children Amber and Brady; David (Grace) Lundquist of Carpenterville, Illinois and their children Joshua and Jennifer; Cheryl (Jared) Hertzke of Round Lake Beach, Illinois and their children Shayla, Jesse, and Katie; Kurt Kuester of Sioux City, Iowa; Kim Kuester of Des Moines, Iowa; Bryan (Tina) Riedemann of Cherokee, Iowa and their children Kayla, Curtis, and Sarah; one brother and two sisters: Lester (Mary) Peck of Nampa, Idaho; Joyce (Andy) Anderson of Alta, Iowa; Dorothy (Maurice) Moorman of Los Angeles, California; also many nieces and nephews.
