MARJORIE M. RABE, 91, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at her home in Cherokee.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church, rural Meriden, Iowa. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery at Meriden, Iowa. There will be a family prayer service at 10 a.m. at the Church on Wednesday. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Marjorie was born November 5, 1923 in rural Paullina, Iowa to Elmer and Signe (Lindquist) Lundell. She attended rural grade school and High School in Paullina. She attended Buena Vista College for 2 years and in 1964 she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in education. She was married to Paul Rabe on June 19, 1945 in rural Paullina. She was an active member of Oakdale Evangelical Free Church. For many years she taught Sunday School, junior Endeavor on Sunday evening and sang in the church choir, Sunday School pianist and pianist for the junior Choir. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts and also loved to read. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching her students to learn and read with the help of Phonics. For 25 years she and Paul wintered in Sun City West, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul on May 31, 2011, a grandson Nick Florine on December 24, 2013, a brother Burton Lundell, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Waldene & Vernon Lundell, brother-in-law Arnold Rabe, brother-in-law & sister-in-law Clarence & Delilah Rabe.

Rabe of Indian Rocks Beach, FL.; Janet Florine of Cherokee, IA.; 3 grandchildren, Chad (Nicole) Florine of rural Marcus, IA., Jenna (James) Medina of Vacaville, CA., Josh Tiano of Woodland Hills, CA., 4 great grandchildren, Tayler & Lana Florine of Marcus, IA. Mason & Damon Medina of California., sister-in-law Eleanor Lundell of Paullina, IA, sister-in-law Iona (Kip) Nelson of Cherokee, IA.
