MARJORIE ANN  ZARR , 89, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away Friday afternoon, April 3, 2020 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial services for Marjorie and her husband Harold will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the St. James United Methodist Church in Sioux City, Iowa. Pastor Merlyne Smith will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be on Saturday, November 7 th at 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa with military rites for Harold by L.A. Wescott Post #2253 of the V.F.W. and the Cherokee American Legion. There will be no visitation. Please practice social distancing and masks are required at the memorial service. Marjorie was born on August 10, 1930 at Walthill, Nebraska to Clarence "Jack" and Mildred (Meikle) Taylor. She grew up in Cherokee and graduated from Cherokee Wilson High School in 1948. She was married to Harold D. Zarr on May 18, 1952 at Cherokee, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a mother, raising four children. She had also worked at the Solid Waste Plant in Ames, Iowa from 1978-79.

Marjorie was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Sioux City and was active in many of their organizations including U.M.W., Glory Group, and Missions Committee. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.

She loved spending time with family. She also enjoyed church activities, flower gardening, scrapbooking, crossword puzzles, and baking.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Jeff Zarr.

She is survived by her husband Harold of Sioux City, Iowa; three children: Harold (Sue) Zarr Jr. of Ankeny, Iowa; Greg (Anita) Zarr of Aurelia, Iowa; Melissa (Jeff) Dawdy of Whiting, Iowa; 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Zarr of Clarksville, TN; Ashley Zarr of Phoenix, AZ; Steven (Stephanie) Zarr of Cherokee, IA; Andrew Zarr of Ankeny, IA; Hilary (Taylor) Witzel of Ankeny, IA; Allyson Zarr of Bondurant, IA; Kristin (Trevor) Hodge of Sioux City, IA; Meggan (Dustin) Hohbach of Marcus, IA; Adam (Katelyn) Groves of Sioux City, IA; Shawn (Kelsey) Pranschke of Omaha, NE; Natasha Regenitter of Holstein, IA; 7 great grandchildren: Riley Groves, Brayden Paskert, Cohen Hohbach, Jackson & Maverick Zarr, Cameron & Parker Groves; two brothers: Keith (Normalene) Taylor of Calimesa, California; Roger (Junie) Taylor of Florence, South Carolina.
