Obituary

MARK W. DRAPER, 39, of Quimby, Iowa, formerly of Holstein and Cherokee, passed away Saturday evening, February 21, 2009, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident southwest of Cherokee.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 26th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Jean Jenness will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. Mark's remains were cremated. Visitation will be on Wednesday from
3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Mark was born on November 6, 1969 at Cherokee, Iowa to James W. Draper Jr. and Diane (Graham) Thomas. He attended Cherokee Community Schools, graduating in 1988. He was married to Wendy Hunter in August of 1992 in Rogers, Arkansas. He was later married to Jeanne Zach on July 27, 1996 at Swisher, Iowa. He had worked as a welder for a few years and had been a truck driver for Cherokee Sanitary Services for several years. He had been a resident of Quimby the past 2 years and prior to this had lived in Holstein for 11 years and was originally from Cherokee. Mark enjoyed motorcycles, cards, his daughters and liked to listen to music.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents Robert & Violet Graham; paternal great grandparents Lester & Mary Draper; maternal grandparents Darrell & Jane Graham; paternal grandfather James W. Draper Sr.

He is survived by his three daughters: Mercedes Draper of Boone, Iowa; Jordan and Jocelyn Draper of Holstein, Iowa; his father James W. Draper Jr. and his significant other Diane Beagle of Holstein, Iowa; his mother Diane Thomas and her husband Jeff of Cherokee, Iowa; his paternal grandmother Helen Draper of Cherokee, Iowa; 2 sisters: Jessica (Draper) Jorgenson and her husband Clinton of Clarksville, Tennessee; Michelle (Thomas) Rupp and her husband Brian of Burbank, South Dakota; also 5 nieces and several aunts and uncles.
