MARLENE A.  BEAZLEY , 81, of Sioux City, Iowa and formerly of Washta, Iowa, passed away Sunday evening, October 13, 2019 at Continental Springs Nursing Home in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16 ^h , at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Cris Decious will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Marlene was born on August 17, 1938 at Quimby, Iowa to Earnest and Vineola (Flickinger) Boggs. She graduated from Quimby Consolidated Schools in 1956. She was married to Donald J. Beazley on September 30, 1956 at the Quimby United Methodist Church. Marlene had worked for Simonsen's in Quimby, Dekalb in Storm Lake, the Telephone Office in Cherokee, and for the Cherokee Villa as a cook for 13 years, retiring in 1994.

Marlene was a member of the Washta United Methodist Church along with the U.M.W.; she had also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She belonged to a neighborhood club and a card club. She also worked with foreign exchange students in helping them to be placed with families in the United States.

Marlene enjoyed collecting salt and pepper sets, playing cards, puzzles, adult coloring with colored pencils and markers, playing penny bingo, fishing, gardening, going to the casino, traveling (especially to Branson, MO.), and visiting with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald on December 3, 2002, a stillborn son Ronald in 1958, and a stillborn brother.

She is survived by her four children: Judy A. (Jim) Stallman of Sanborn, Iowa; Janet M. Beazley of Lincoln, Nebraska; Robert (Karmen) Beazley of Correctionville, Iowa; Russell (Holly) Beazley of Johnston, Iowa; ten grandchildren: Justin (fiancé Katie), Jordan (fiancé Jamie), Joel (fiancé Mariah), and Jacob Stallman; Drew and McKenna Beazley, Kayla, Preston, Chase, and Missy Beazley; one great granddaughter Lorraine Ann Stallman; along with other relative, many close friends, and her very special feline companion Toby.
