Marvin D. McDonald, 64, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Tuesday evening, February 3, 2015 at Careage Hills in Cherokee.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 8th at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, IA from1 p.m. until 5 p.m. with family present 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. with a prayer service open to the public at 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon with Rev. Magrey deVega officiating.
Marvin was born on February 8, 1950 at Washington, Iowa to Herbert & Doris (Randall) McDonald. He graduated in 1968 from Keota High School. He was a longtime Cherokee resident. He worked at Wilson Foods for a short time, and then Lundell Construction and Cherokee Sanitary Services for 28 years, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed fishing, cribbage and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Joseph McDonald in 2010, an infant brother Dennis, a brother Kenneth and a brother-in-law Don Radamaker.
He is survived by his daughter Amber Reichert of Cherokee, Iowa; daughter-in-law Tasha McDonald of Holstein, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: Randy Redding-McDonald of Holstein, Iowa, Nick Redding-McDonald of Holstein, Iowa, Justus Reichert of Cherokee, Iowa & Phoenix Reichert of Cherokee, Iowa; 1 sister: Audrey Radamaker of Cherokee, Iowa; 1 brother: Russell McDonald of Galena, Missouri; sister-in-law: Denise McDonald of Columbus, Georgia; also several nieces and nephews.
