MARY T. FLORES, 67, of Cherokee, Iowa, passed away, Monday evening, August 1, 2016 in Unity Point Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 12th, at 10:30 a.m.at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Larry Ostercamp will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 11th, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home. Mary's remains were cremated. Mary was born on August 27, 1948 at Atwater, Ohio to Damian & Estella (Neider) Craven. She graduated from high school and attended college for a short time. She had been a resident of Cherokee, Iowa the past 21 years and prior to this had lived in Alta, Iowa for several years. She had worked for the Alta and Aurelia Newspapers and had been a sports editor for the Cherokee Daily Times for several years. Mary enjoyed painting ceramics, collecting small bears and chickens, playing cards, puzzles, darts, bowling, watching football, wrestling and Nascar on the television.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her three children: Theresa (Tony) Anthony of Cherokee, Iowa; Eric (Alma) Lucero of Phoenix, Arizona; Cynthia (Dean) Sanow of Meriden, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; two brothers Thomas and Jim Craven; one sister Rita Otis.
