MARY ELLEN FOX, 68, of Quimby, Iowa passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 15th, at 10:30 a.m. at the Quimby Baptist Church in Quimby, Iowa. Dr. Robert Stout will officiate. Burial will be in the Quimby Cemetery. Mary Ellen was born on January 30, 1943 at Northport, Alabama to Woodrow & Thestus (Hocutt) Prewitt. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School and then graduated from Livingston State in 1964. She was united in marriage to Ronald (Ronnie) William Fox on December 19, 1964 at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Northport, AL. She worked in the Willow Community School which later became the River Valley School District until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of the Quimby Baptist Church of which she and her husband Ronnie were an integral part in the start of the church. She was also a very loving and devoted grandmother. She really enjoyed spending the winter in Branson and the summer months at Okoboji. She was a Hospice volunteer in Branson, enjoyed watching her grandchildren's events, quilting, swimming, music and walking with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Don Simmons & Bob Fox.

She is survived by her husband Ron; 2 sons: Matt and his wife Angela Fox of Springdale, AR and Tim Fox of Quimby, IA; 3 grandchildren: Courtney, Austin & Josie Fox of Springdale, AR; brothers and sisters: Woodrow (Doris) Prewitt Jr. of Decatur, AL, Bill (Carolyn) Prewitt of Kingsport, TN, George (Betty) Prewitt of Northport, AL. & Barbara Ann Simmons of Florence, AL; sister-in-law Joan Fox of Cherokee, IA.
