MATTHEW ANTHONY AGUIRRE SR., 45, of Quimby, Iowa passed away Saturday, August 23rd, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Rev. Magrey deVega will officiate. It was his wish to be cremated. There will be no visitation. On line condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com

Matthew was born May 13, 1969 at Covina, California to Charles and Marilyn (Michler) Aguirre. He attended Azusa Schools in California. He later received his GED in 2004. He attended WITCC and received a nursing degree.

He was married to Tammy Hawthorn on January 4, 1992 in Cherokee, Iowa. He had worked construction and owned and operated a sprinkler business in California before moving to Iowa in 1993. He was currently employed by Grape Tree, a nursing employment agency in the lakes area
He was currently working on his private pilot's license; he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy of Cherokee, Iowa, his four children; Korriane (Brett) James; Kandice VanVoorst; Matthew (Meridith) Aguirre Jr.; Tabitha Aguirre, all of Cherokee, Iowa; five grandchildren, Noah, Gabe, Adriana, Lennon, Emersyn; and grandson Julian on the way; his mother Marilyn Aguirre of Monrovia, Califronia; his father Charles Aguirre of Azusa, California; his siblings; Ron and Carry of Idaho, Jon of Florida, Nancy, Julie, Tracy, Timmy and Tommy all of California; Deanna of Nevada and Mike of Colorado; also many nieces and nephews.
