MELINDA (ELLIS) VANCENBROCK, 55, of Knoxville, Iowa and formerly of Des Moines and Cherokee, Iowa passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Monday, June 29th, at 11 a.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Deacon LeRoy Rupp will officiate. Melinda was born July 23, 1959 in Cherokee, Iowa to Ralph and Patricia (Lash) Ellis. She graduated from Cherokee Washington High School in 1979. She then attended the Spencer School of Business. She was married to David Jenness on July 20, 1984 in Cherokee. She later married Jerry Vancenbrock in Knoxville, Iowa. She was affiliated with the Catholic Church. She was currently living in Knoxville and was originally from Cherokee.

She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Ellis and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her mother and step-father Patricia & John Veencamp of Cherokee, Iowa; her children; Misty Bushlow Gorff and her husband Daryl of Madison, Alabama; Stephanie Jenness of Newton, Iowa; Sean Jenness of Knoxville, Iowa; Ashley Jenness of Knoxville, Iowa.
