MELVA E. MILLER, 83, of Marcus, Iowa, formerly of rural Paullina, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Unity Point Health-St. Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee, Iowa. Pastor Mike Agnew will officiate. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery at rural Meriden, Iowa.  Visitation with the family present will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Boothby Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

Melva was born on August 13, 1940 to Byron and Violet (Hill) Miles at Marion, Indiana.  She was united in marriage to Daniel D. Miller on November 29, 1958 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, Iowa.

She worked at Randall's Grocery Store, Wilson Foods, Aalfs Manufacturer, Harkers, and Wells Blue Bunny.

She was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting.  Melva loved cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel D. Miller, sister Emma Burke, brother Roscoe Miles, grandson Jeremy Miller, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Berna (Howard) Jenness, Lola Miller, Robert (Liane) Miller, Betty Miller, Mary Ellen Miller, and John Dallmann.

Melva was survived by her children, Laura Kirchner of Storm Lake, Iowa, Daniel (Michelle) Miller of Marcus, Iowa, Ester (Dale) Woltman of Quimby, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Marvin Miller of Storm Lake, Iowa and Ben Miller of Axtell, Nebraska, sister-in-law Mary Dallmann of Tekamah, Nebraska.
